Reviews and Ratings
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms, despite their spaciousness and comfort, had a minor inconvenience of being directly under the bar and lacking regular tea and milk replenishments. The service from most staff members was lovely and accommodating, although one receptionist stood out negatively. The dining was satisfactory but a bit pricey, and the facilities overall were acceptable.
The hotel had lovely and spacious rooms, but it was cold when I arrived in the evening. It was supposed to be a superior room, yet not cheap at £210 per night, albeit a little small. The service was genuinely friendly and helpful, going above and beyond with a welcome drink and even assisting with an item I had left behind. The dining experience was good with nicely made scrambled eggs and excellent service. The facilities were modern and well-maintained.
The room was decent and served its purpose, but the size was challenging for two people with luggage. The temperature was oppressively hot even with a fan provided on request. It would have been better with towel rails. The service was a mix of pleasant interactions and some disorganization, needing reminders for basic items. The location was perfect for us, close to the railway station, and within walking distance of various attractions. The dining experience had some delays in service and inconsistencies in quality. Overall, the facilities met our basic needs.
The hotel offers rooms with a lovely view of the park, but the onsite purchase was unavailable. The ensuite needed refurbishment, and the room temperature was oppressively hot, even with a fan provided on request as it wouldn't drop below 25 degrees.
I couldn't expect more from a hotel in terms of Victorian grandeur and ambiance, but my stay faced challenges like sound disruptions from staff moving furniture at 5 am and a small room with a view of the rear kitchen exit. The Owner's Maserati blocking the path was a nuisance too.
I had a great stay at this hotel. The room was large and comfortable, providing everything I needed. The front of house was functional and convenient for all my needs. The service was excellent, with the staff being lovely, really helpful, and always on the go. The location was perfect for me, with easy access to Glasgow Centre via a short train ride. The dining experience was pleasant, offering good quality ingredients, and the facilities were top-notch.
